The Best Restaurants in Tyndrum

Tyndrum is home to many different cafes and restaurants that really hit the spot when you’re out and about and fancy a bite to eat.

Whether you’ve come back from a long hike and are as hungry as a horse, or if you just fancy a small nibble somewhere – we’ve made a list of places that will satisfy that hunger. So here are the best places in Tyndrum to check out – and why!

The Green Welly Stop

This is a first stop for any Tyndrum explorer. Famous in Tyndrum for selling almost anything you need, The Green Welly Stop is also home to their Snack Stop Café.

The pizzas are made fresh from scratch every day (with gluten free options), and they really pack a punch of flavour! The café also offers up warming homemade soups and savoury pastries – perfect for a cold day. Or Porrellii’s Ice Cream for a warmer day (and if you’ve got more of a sweet tooth!). The Snack Stop Café has something for everyone and is the perfect pit stop for relaxing and renergising.

If you’re going self-catered, check out our post all about The Green Welly Stop as your go-to shop for almost anything.

TJ’s Diner

This traditional American diner serves up locally sourced meat from the finest Scottish beef cattle that is grass-fed – meaning guilt-free and great food. At TJ’s, they have Halal, vegan and vegetarian options, too.

Their most popular dishes are the delicious handcrafted burgers, buttermilk pancakes and ice cream milkshakes – all the good stuff that you’ll need after a long-day’s hike! This is a trusty ol’ American diner with locally sourced food for a Scottish twist.

The Real Food Café

Renowned for their great quality food and service, The Real Food Café naturally had to make it on our list! At this award-winning roadside diner, they offer a great range of dishes from vegetarian & vegan options to a solid Scottish Breakfast.

They play a huge part in the local community here at Tyndrum. Taking part in litter picking, charity projects, and more recently fundraising for a local bike skills park (that will hopefully be built in early 2023 at Dalrigh) – their passion for the community and the wider environment is shown through their food. They pride themselves on ‘Carefully sourced, responsibly made’ food. They buy Scottish produce whenever feasible, providing only the finest ingredients for their menu.

Sourcing local meats, game, seafood – all carefully prepped to provide tasty heart-warming dishes. Their bar is stocked with all the best local ales, malt whiskies and an extensive wine list. They even have a fun menu, with burgers named after the great Ben Lui (the ‘Ben Lui Burger’).

With all of these amazing places located right in Tyndrum, you’re really spoilt for choice on where to enjoy a meal out. And all just a short walk from our Tyndrum Holiday Park.
