McCaig’s Tower is a well known landmark in Oban, built in 1897 by local banker John Stuart McCaig, with the aim of providing work for local stonemasons and a lasting monument to the McCaig family.
The climb from the town centre to McCaig’s Tower is well worth the hike when you are rewarded with spectacular views across Oban Bay to the Atlantic Islands.
The gardens inside the tower are renowned for their beauty, and are a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle.
This iconic landmark is just a 15-minute drive from Oban Holiday Park, and makes for excellent photo opportunities once you reach the top.
